This is our second program on Jiddu Krishnamurti. He was discovered and announced as a ‘World Teacher’ by Dr. Annie Besant of the Theosophical Society, he later renounced the position saying that “Truth is a Pathless Land”. This program actually contains certain salient points that are a key to understanding the ‘situation’ we find ourselves in. These points may pass over your head unless you pay close attention. I advise you listen to what he says as often as it takes for them to reveal themselves clearly. The previous program on J. Krishnamurti should also be listened to again if necessary. Remember that it is not about the messenger. The clarity of the pointing is what this is all about. Krishnamurti was often very blunt with his pointing. This program is a stand alone pointer. In effect, as a producer, I have taken the salient points and given them new life in a new form. This program expresses the basics, without all the unnecessary extras. In 1929 Krishnamurti dissolved ‘The Order’, which, he was made the head of – because he recognized that he was being turned into an idol of worship. He says: “I maintain that Truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect. That is my point of view, and I adhere to that absolutely and unconditionally. Truth, being limitless, unconditioned, unapproachable by any path whatsoever, cannot be organized; nor should any organization be formed to lead or coerce people along any particular path. If you first understand that, then you will see how impossible it is to organize a belief. A belief is purely an individual matter, and you cannot and must not organize it. If you do, it becomes dead, crystallized; it becomes a creed, a sect, a religion, to be imposed on others”..(end of quote). The program is a pointer, fresh and new.

This tape is from January 1981. The atmosphere is ‘alive’ with activities and the pointing is constant. Jean Dunn was present in the meeting. Jean published three books of transcripts from tapes similar to these ones featured here on the UGC. The word Fakir is used several times at one point. A Fakir is a Yogi, trained to go beyond the body. An example is: a bed of nails is used by a Fakir.

Point of interest: Helen Adie, a concert pianist during her early life in London, was Gilbert’s ‘sacred dance’ (‘movements’) teacher for many years. She played Piano for the Movement Classes in Paris (Fontainebleau) for G.I. Gurdjieff . Helen and her husband George Adie were pupils of Gurdjieff. This music, along with many other pieces, was recorded by Gilbert in the 80′s. There is a 3 CD set of the music available (or was for a few years). It may be hard to find. Some of the pieces are exceptionally ‘moving’. As I remember it, Helen was flown to the US to play pieces for the production of Peter Brook’s film, on Gurdjieff’s early life, called “Meetings with Remarkable Men”. Some of the ‘movements’ appear in that film. You can see them on google video.

32. ‘The Great Way is not difficult’ by Chien-chih Seng-ts’an + Bob Adamson

One of the most profound texts of all time on the subject of Non Duality. If one were only to have this text to contemplate, it is enough. Its rich content touches the unfathomable nature of our existence. Written by the Chinese Third Patriarch of Chan (Zen in Japanese). His name, Chien-chih Seng-ts’an or Jianzhi Sengcan. The author is also known by the name Sosan in Japan. It seems fitting that so little is known about the author. The text transcends ‘the personal’ and reveals something profound about our true nature. If you have heard it before, then listen to it as fresh and new – because it IS fresh and new. Ram Dass said he read it for a very long time without understanding breaking through. Then it opened up into a profound meaning (paraphrasing). One can listen to it many times and its profundity is not diminished.

All concepts are ephemeral by nature, and they cannot bind Awareness – they simply are awareness itself appearing as forms ‘in or on’ Awareness. This program is all about this fact. No belief is asked for or required. The immediate experiencing is NOT of being a ‘person’. That fact is extremely subtle and yet so very, very obvious. It is not a concept….it is irrefutable….self-evident. If one truly hears what is being pointed out – it is the dissolution of all beliefs in ‘time and process’ – ‘a Path’ – and the clear presence of naked awareness is obvious – as it always IS. 15. Jeff Foster – Falling Into The Mystery

In this interview with Jeff Foster, Jeff tells us that there is no path and no process to recognizing what we are, and as such, he does not advocate practices nor does he suggest that you stop them, for nothing you do or don’t do can or will lead to that which you already are.

He explains that this ‘understanding’ is not about concepts or about understanding ‘something’, but rather that it is about falling into the mystery, the unknown. He examines a common trap people can fall into when they take the concepts of non-duality and ‘turn them into’ a religion. Specifically, he looks at people falling into nihilism when they hear that there is nothing to get and nobody to do anything.

We are sure that (some of) you will love it – others will take ‘exception’ – such is the way of the appearance, the dualism of LIFE.
