  • Excellent program! You discard all the bullshit and point directly at that ever-present I-AM-NESS which is not the property of the individual, not the result of a process or given by a “guru”, but is THIS immediate presence in which even the idea of the ME arises, THAT unchanging absolute principle which witnesses the appearance of a changing, relative world.

And you ARE THAT – before the first visit to a “guru”!

The intertwining music is very cool also – thanks for sharing.

Just my sort of cafe – short blacks from Bob, smooth lattes from Tony and, I think, Gilbert mixing the vibe and making it happen. Thank you to all involved for the gift.

The blog: The First Instant had a note that warned The Urban Guru Cafe was going to be shut down because not enough people were sending comments. “If you can’t be bothered, neither can we.” Maybe some of us don’t want to add (and thus clutter your perfect site) their conceptual comments to something that is already so clear? Maybe its compliments that Gilbert is looking for. I know its not anything adversarial since his apparent “I” seems to explode if anyone presents an apparent criticism. The Urban Guru Cafe and Gilbert are very much appreciated.

The suggestion was to contact the producer Areti via email urbangurufcafe@gmail – not make comments on the site. I don’t need any compliments, thank you.

Just visited for the first time……looks really intriging.

    Two questions:-

    1) Can the podcasts be downloaded for free?
(Editor YES – it is FREE)

    2) the list I found today begin with # 19 and goes to #10 Are there earlier ones? How do I find them and listen?
(Editor – click on the link at the bottom left hand side of the page – Previous Listings)

One final comment – the definite feeling which comes through clearly is one of lack of ego and true helpfulness. My kind of sharing and much gratitude. :-)

I am thrilled to have found these podcasts. I’ve been listening to them again and again on my Shuffle. I particularly love the way music is used to set apart segments of speech. Each enhances the other.
I can access 10 through 22 via iTunes, but can’t seem to subscribe to the full set. I know I can play them from your website, but are 1 to 9 available on iTunes?

    Bonjour Areti,

I’ve just been enjoying your website. Thank you. Thank you very much. I’m not sure I’m too keen on the masthead you’ve come up with: random mix of upper and lower case jellybean-guised lettering but in every other case – love it! Very high production values and exemplary ease of navigation; couldn’t believe the audio quality -so critical this. And the content is, ça va sans dire, out of this world. Not that there is an in of this world as opposed to an out of this world, you understand. I’m not sure I do but delving around in the brilliant and brilliantly presented material you offer for free will help. Whoever you are, you have made whoever I am, a very happy camper.

All the best from Quillan in the presently rather chilly South of France.

    Cordialement,

    Peter

Thank you so much for the website and it’s content. I’ve put the pod casts on the ipod and listen while walking my dogs in the evening. How wonderful to be reminded of the extraordinary (and ordinary) beauty of existence, and the fact that oneness is. Hello to all the beings conected by this web site. Good bye, and hello again…

To Gilbert, Areti and those who have put this thing together, I hope the sharing continues. The pointing and sharing in each of these conversations have resonated deeply here(no where) and helped point out what is real/what am I REALLY(timeless, ever fresh, space-like awareness, undeniable-possibly overlooked in favor of content) and to what is believed to be real(self-centered, separate entity/person) and found to actually not exist. THANKS for this.

Hi, A sort of technical question: When I click (left or right) on the podcast button, it just opens a quicktime player. Doesn’t download. I use Zune. Is that why? I’d like to listen while away from a desktop.
    Any ‘pointers’??
Thanks for what you are doing!!

  • Hello,
I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your site. The interviews with Sailor Bob and John Wheeler along with the great music inserted at perfect intervals so their pointers sink in, well done. I added your site on my links page as an introduction to these great teachings at a time when the world is crying out for people to know themselves.
    Thank you,

There is a resounding sense of delight and gratitude for everything I am reading here. Some twenty years ago, following years on the spiritual trail that started in the mid-60′s, there came the recognition of “that which was changeless and ever-present” followed by doubts of the mind that “it couldn’t be that simple,” resulting in more years of searching and looking further to “those who knew.”
The great cosmic humor that resulted from all of this foment and froth was the publication of a book I co-authored with a close friend called, “Trouble In Tulum, The Divine Drama Exposed.” The writing of which was a journey of absolute delight and hilarity in which ultimately in the midst of this expose’ of the spiritual path there was the recognition that the spiritual pilgrimmage is, in truth, the trip to nowhere coming full circle to where it began. The great “IS” revealed….like the Wizard of Oz pulling the strings from behind the curtain….CAUGHT, EXPOSED, How Deliciously marvelous!!!

Thank you for providing the space to celebrate the wonder of it all…..

Just found this website from a recommendation on a Tolle site. What a find! You guys are doing some great work. It’s a really fun site to listen to. I can’t thank you (and life) enough. Between the pointers of Eckhart Tolle and Sailor Bob (and his many awakened offspring) I found clarity in being. It was always right here anyway, just waiting to be seen. Now there is no effort, just resting in/as open awareness. Thanks again for this wonderful contribution.
